She was pivotal in the development of anarchist political philosophy in North America & Europe in the first half of the 20th century. She was a Lithuanian immigrant who had emigrated to the US in 1885, settling in New York. She later became involved in the anarchist movement in 1889, writing & lecturing on anarchism, women’s’ rights & social issues. Her lifelong friend & fellow-anarchist Alexander Berkman aided her in a plot to kill industrialist/financier Henry Frick. This went wrong, earning Berkman a lengthy prison-term. Goldman herself was to experience several jail-terms in the subsequent years, for various crimes such as incitement to riot. She was greatly admired & lionized for her free-thinking stance, & also denounced for her advocacy of violent revolution. Her iconic status in the anarchist movement was revived in the 1970s.

Our no hassle returns policy is valid for 28 days from receipt of an item
(40 days for international orders).
